The Soft Skills College Tour hosted 3 workshops in the Spring 2018 with different student groups on the campus of Georgia State University in partnership with Office of Career Services.
The tour is designed to prepare the next generation of leaders in the workforce with equipping them with essential skills needed to succeed in career, business, and life. We believe career preparation should be a vital and intentional part of a student’s higher education.
When students are prepared for career essentials, it will lead to meaningful employment and career advancement. Studies continue to show a significant need for more soft skills training in the workplace. If we are able to transform the way a generation see the value in investing in their own brand the college to career transition will make them better prepared and attractive to employers.
The Soft Skills College Tour offers a catalog of workshop topics that can be customized to meet the needs of our partners. The Dress For Success For Less including a Professional Clothing Closet is our most requested. We empower students on the value in why personal branding is essential to career success. We want students to be transformed.
After students learn about different types of professional workplace attire and the do’s and don’ts they have the opportunity to go on a shopping spree of hand-picked career clothes to help jump-start their professional wardrobe. We know the financial burden most students face while in college. Helping students with essential such as an interview suit, shoes, pants has a great affect on their confidence walking in to an interview or professional networking event.
We have the responsibility to invest back in the next generation, especially in a competitive global workforce.
